Bright Future Fundraising - 1 Year on the Clock!

Bright Future Fundraising was established on the 12th of April 2021, so a year on, and during our birthday week, it feels like a great opportunity to take a look back at our journey over the past 12 months and even speculate as to what the organisation will look like in another year's time.

The single biggest transformation in the past year has been the team. Back in April 2021 it was Kelvin and I launching the brand and building the infrastructure of the business. Four months on we welcomed Oscar and since the launch of our fundraising teams in November 2021, our people have undertaken fundraising activity D2D, at events and venues spread between Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and London, inspiring 1,500 members of the public to take action and support the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

We are extremely grateful to BHF for their trust to allow us to work on their behalf as our first charity partner and we hope we are going some way in repaying that show of faith. With an extension to our initial partnership in the works and an opportunity for our fundraisers to represent BHF at Glastonbury this summer, we see this relationship going from strength to strength and we have no doubt that BHF will continue to be a big part of the BFF family for the foreseeable future!

Meeting and greeting with lots of charities has been a big part of getting BFF off the ground and myself and Kelvin have been really pleased with the feedback we have received from colleagues on the charity side. Be it our Living Wage status, Bright Academy programme or approach to partnerships, I think it’s fair to say there is a sense of excitement and interest around our offering.

Back to today, April 2022 – we are implementing our sustainable growth plan, looking to appoint three new strategic roles to help take BFF forward into our second year and to assist on growth whilst delivering fundraising excellence, all whilst continuing to develop the best working environment possible for our people. Alongside this investment in our team, we are also excited to share that we are securing some bricks and mortar and the first permanent home for BFF, which we see as a real achievement and statement of intent for the future!

To round up the past 12 months, launching in a pandemic wasn’t our choice but ultimately it was a leap of faith, that looking back we are glad we took. It made us nimble and reactive as an organisation and forced us to be productive in the most hostile of climates. WE HAVE AN AMAZING TEAM, who work hard every day for our people and partners, and I look forward to seeing their continued growth as individuals over the next 12 months alongside the organisation.

There has been lots of highs and challenges, but I am immensely proud of the organisation Bright Future Fundraising has become in the past 12 months, and I can’t wait to see what we will achieve in the coming 12 months and beyond!
